Does anyone know how I can change a previous tenant's ntl box back to a real tv aerial?
I have no tv aerial. A previous tenant in my flat was obviously linked up to ntl but I don't want their services...I now want an aerial becasue I want freeview...but I can't seem to get a signal. I have tried to reattach an aerial connection from the ntl point on my wall...but to no avail! Help! Plus...if someone has to come out to fix it, will ntl do it for free?

- NTL wont take anything to do with it unless your with them. You either need a new outside aerial or even one that you can sit on top of your t.v
- NTL do nothing for free. Try a TV shop as all you need is an interior aerial with booster for the signal. The shop should be able to give you advice according to your type of flat.
- Yes just unscrew the aerial cable from the box, cut the end off and fit a normal TV Aerial connector to it and then plug it into the aerial hole on the back of your TV, then just Re Tune your TV, ive done it - it works :-)
- Yes Richard is right. Remove the F type connector from the downlead and fit a standard coaxial plug, plug into tv and you will get at least the 5 main channels, possibly more. Or you could leave the F connector on and fit an adaptor instead. If you do get no signal it suggests that NTL have disconnected the cable , but they shouldn't have, so get back onto them. You can't connect this lead to a freeview box, it is not a terrestial signal.
